I’m Jae, the photographer at Felin Studio.
My work is rooted in a simple belief that when we feel safe to be seen, something true reveals itself. Often in witnessing that truth, something within us shifts, and sometimes even heals.
Photography, for me, isn’t about performance or perfection but about presence. My aim is always to create a calm, open space where you can arrive and work with me as yourself. I understand for many this can be challenging, and that understanding comes from personal experience.
Before stepping behind the camera, I spent years in front of it as a model, learning how working with intention can bring forward something deeper than appearance. When I moved from London to southwest Wales, I began taking self-portraits as a way to stay connected to that creative practice. In time, that exploration became something larger — an invitation for others to witness themselves through the same gentle lens I had been learning to turn on myself.
Today, I work from my home studio in Wales and on location wherever my clients are. Each portrait begins with an intention — sometimes just a single word — that becomes the centre of what we explore and create together.
